so the jury (namely, me) is back on b's "b'day". i never expect much lyrically from her. there are some bangers though if you can get past the fact that she talks about her financial status the whole time. one main theme i'm feeling though (especially these days) is the notion of the single, self-sufficient, collar-poppin, modern chick doin the damn thing! (i have to high-five her on that one) anyone who knows me in the least bit knows... i ain't THAT chick... but i'm workin on it. the message is reassuring and motivating and all that good stuff. much like india was my solace a few months ago... this joint right here'll have a bitch noddin' her head like, "damn shame... i (amongst others) was sleepin on myself." remember that post from a minute back ("uh anh...") when i was so "derailed"? well, a broad's on the road to getting back on her a-game... making herself... well... herself again. stay tuned.

you do also raise very good points. SHE has been upgraded. and i'm sure she does/buys things for jay but really, like he said, "how you gonna upgrade [him]? how you get betta than number one?" (or some simile thereof) i ain't hatin on her though. and i do agree that to stay fly-iii-iii, you should wrap some non-superficial shit up in the mix too. actually, the non-superficial should be the majority while sprinkling a new pair of jimmy choos here and there. the term you're searching for is called, "grown." lol

ok, back to topic... i LOVE BDay. her writing skills are great. her voice is OPEN, doin that play/movie has helped take her somewhere else. unfortunately, #10 was recorded about 4 years ago by a young jersey/philly girl nemd jazmine sullivan 1st (and she blazed it!) but she didn't get any credit on the album, so I'm not sure who really wrote it, B just did this arrangement. in all, this is a ridin on 95 turn up the dial jam record. its different and unexpected and that's why i think i love it so much. plus, she has officially gone crazeee in some parts, like certifiably straight jacket material, and i LOVE that the most!
